Room 237 abuses The Shining and Kubrick ∞
ROOM 237 is a “documentary” about the alleged deeper meanings of Kubrick’s The Shining. Excrement. Tedious, childish, unwatchable, pseudo-intellectual drivel that takes itself and its subject far too seriously. Thick with conspiracy theories, weird hyperbolic Kubrick worship, and childish over-analysis: an insult to a fine film, and an even better book. That many critics loved this documentary only proves that a lot of critics like over-analyzing films — shocker.
